About the role

Veoteq delivers mobile apps, data products, and bespoke software for startups and growing companies. Our Project Manager keeps delivery predictable: clear scope, visible risk, steady communication, and teams that know what “done” means each sprint.

You will own the rhythm between clients, product, design, and engineering—translating business goals into plans engineers can execute without guesswork. Some weeks are heavy on stakeholder updates; others are deep in backlog refinement and release coordination.

Reports to: Director of Delivery · Typical squad: 1 PM (you), 1 product lead, 2–5 engineers, design as needed · Stack context: iOS (Swift/SwiftUI), web front ends, cloud backends—we do not expect you to code, but you should follow technical discussions and spot dependency risks early.

What you will do

  • Build and maintain project plans: milestones, dependencies, resource assumptions, and change logs when scope shifts.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies—standups, sprint planning, reviews, retros—and keep boards (Jira, Linear, or similar) honest and current.
  • Own client communication: status reports, demo agendas, RAID logs (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies), and escalation when timelines or budget are at risk.
  • Partner with product to groom backlogs, define acceptance criteria, and break epics into shippable increments.
  • Coordinate releases with engineering: environments, App Store / Play submission windows, feature flags, and rollback plans when needed.
  • Track burn vs. budget on fixed-fee and time-and-materials engagements; flag variance early with proposed tradeoffs.
  • Run post-mortems and feed lessons into the next engagement—documentation and templates matter here.

What we are looking for

Must have

  • 4+ years managing software or digital product delivery in a consulting, agency, or product company.
  • Hands-on experience with Scrum or Kanban in tools teams actually use daily (Jira, Linear, Azure DevOps, or equivalent).
  • Proven track record shipping mobile and/or web releases on a recurring cadence—not only one-off campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal English; comfortable leading calls with executives and engineers in the same day.
  • Calm under ambiguity: you narrow questions, document decisions, and move the team forward.

Nice to have

  • PMP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or PMI-ACP (not required—we value outcomes over certificates).
  • Experience with App Store Connect or Google Play Console timelines and review cycles.
  • Familiarity with Firebase, analytics rollouts, or lightweight compliance discussions (privacy, data handling) alongside legal/product.
  • Prior work in the Boston / Route 128 tech corridor or hybrid teams across US time zones.
